The Traveller for Frilly and Funkie

Hi everyone and welcome! Over at Frilly and Funkie our host Zoe is preparing to move country soon and has set us all a travel themed challenge called 'Oh The Places You'll Go!'; for this challenge you need to create a vintage or shabby chic project with travel as the central theme. Think planes, trains, auto-mobiles, ships, maps, globes.

The winner will earn the chance of a Guest DT spot here at Frilly and Funkie, and everyone who enters and follows the rules will go into the draw for the chance to win a $25 spending spree at The Funkie Junkie Boutique. And there are Top 3 Badges up for grabs, presented to three further outstanding entries as chosen by the Design Team.

I had fun playing with some new Tim Holtz stamps and Idea-Ology Ephemera for this canvas entitled The Traveller. I'm not going to go into any detail about how it was created as there's a Step by Step coming on Saturday on the Frilly and Funkie blog. Needless to say I was inspired by the words surrounding the man on the tag (I nicknamed him 'Sideshow Bob' whilst making it!!!) and went with some flight related elements.

Here are those all important close ups to get a better look at the details in the meantime;

It really feels like I've found my 'home' in these 8x8 canvases, a space where I can really express my creative 'style'. It seems entirely appropriate then to enter the current Anything But Cute anniversary challenge 'Celebrate Your Style'.

That's all from me today but my talented DT team mates are sharing their own creations to inspire you over on the Frilly and Funkie blog so make sure you check them out. Then it's over to you  where will your travels take you?

Don't forget to check out my step by step tutorial for this canvas this Saturday over at Frilly and Funkie.
Until then, whatever you're up to take care of yourselves. Jenny xxx

  4. How inspiring! The background is just so fantastic in the simple white, greys and black tones. And then that wonderful cluster of layers and ephemera just builds and builds until it pops off the page. I really like the way you used color to build layers...and that tag on the top is totally fantastic. So much gorgeous texture and so many glorious layers and fabby stamping....yes...my heart is happy!
